New Music Monday. Here’s a cool little tune that’s a collaboration between Michael Des Barres and the band Prima Donna. The Doc doesn’t know much about Des Barres, but he’s an English actor that appears to have been in more movies and TV shows than albums he’s been on. He’s been in a few different bands, most recently with his own band that bares his name. He did replace Robert Palmer in Power Station for their American Tour way back in the day. On the other hand, Prima Donna is a glam, pop, garage rock band that’s been kicking it since 2005. In fact, the DOC owns their first album release called Kiss Kiss. They have a very New York Dolls sound on that disc. However, the Doc does not think the band considers this their first real album, as it was quickly produced and apparently only sold at live shows. Thus, the Doc wonders how he ended up with a copy. So, here’s “Ain’t Nothing You Can Do About It” by Prima Donna featuring Michael Des Barres on vocals. By the way, if you dig this tune, there is a B side to this release called “Waves.”
