New Music Monday. What do you do when your aspirations of signing to a major label back in the 1990s don’t quite work out. Well, if you are Craig Douglas Miller, you put your musical aspirations on hold for over 20 years. However, now at age 50, and teaming up with the former guitarist from The Church, Marty-Wilson Piper, you write enough tunes for your debut album. If you grew up on the alternative, post-punk rock of the late 80s and early 90s, you will definitely recognize the sound. As stated on the Blueburst website: “Blueburst is unapologetically retro in style, proudly wearing it’s oldwave influences on its sleeve.” You might recognize some of the influences, and in my opinion, Craig’s voice is very similar to Michael Stipe’s. This tune was the first single that was released, and they just recently released a second single from the upcoming disc. Look for the album in late fall of this year.
