Doc’s New Music Pick - Change Today

New Music Monday. Back in the day, there was a punk band named T.S.O.L. which stood for True Sounds of Liberty. They put out a couple of EPs and two albums with their original lead singer, Jack Grisham. In 1984, they found a new lead singer Joe Wood (who I think is Jack’s brother-in-law). They also found a new drummer as well. Long story short – Joe sung and wrote songs for 4 albums. I dig those albums, with Revenge being my favorite. Joe’s last album with TSOL only had one original member left. However, he left the band prior to the tour. This was the tour that I finally got to see them at the old Aragon Ballroom. I also got to meet Joe – he was a cool dude. The last album didn’t do well, and really wasn’t too great. Thus, that TSOL disbanded, but 3 original members, Jack Grisham, Ron Emory, and Mike Roach reformed TSOL and are still playing today. For those who like TSOL, many hate the Joe Wood Era, but I dig it. This new band takes the name of Joe’s first album with TSOL – Change Today. This is the first single, and the title track of Change Today’s new album that just recently dropped. It’s now streaming on Spotify. It has the sound of the tunes on Revenge, so I really like this tune and the album. It’s not for everyone but give it a spin.
