New Music Monday. Sometimes I wonder whatever happened to straight forward, guitar driven, rock n roll. It isn’t gone, you just have to know where to look. Deraps is an Australian/Canadian power trio that is a throwback to 70’s and 80’s hard rock with has some obvious influences, including how the band was named. Like Van Halen, Deraps is the last name of the guitarist and lead singer, Jacob Deraps. And if it isn’t apparent in this tune, Eddie and Van Halen were a huge influence on a young Jacob.
