New Music Monday. Durry is a brother and sister duo (Austin Durry and Tayrn Durry) hailing from the very musical state of Minnesota. They play a brand of hook-heavy, alternative power pop that has that very familiar sound to it. Almost like you’ve heard this before but can’t quite place where. Austin was in a band prior to COVID, but the pandemic stopped all touring. During the break he started writing and asking his sister for input. They have their debut album dropping in September. According to their website, the album invokes alternative, pop, and pop-punk influences such as Weezer, Sum 41, the White Stripes, and the Killers. This tune is somewhat of an homage to the Dolly Parton tune, 9 to 5.
