New Music Monday. I wonder if anyone remembers the band Roxanne who released their self-titled debut album in 1988. Their style of music was much less “hair” or much more AOR. However, we all know what happened in the early 90’s. Thus, with much less interest in the AOR sound, Roxanne went on hiatus. Some thirty years later, the band returned with their sophomore album on Rat Pak Records. Regarding this record, lead singer Jamie Brown said that they wanted to make a rock record that you could crank up in the car, and drive fast with the windows down. Anyway, Roxanne has just recently released their third album, Stereo Typical thirty-five years after their debut. I can totally imagine rocking this tune cruising down the highway. This is the obviously the title track to the album and album opener. For the musically inclined, you will definitely hear some Thin Lizzy influences in the tune. Dig it.
