Doc Toke Names the Greatest Rock Bands of All Time

MOM is Doc's new fav song

Monday is New Music Day. This three-piece band (now a quartet, I believe) has released a full-length album, an EP, and a number of singles. They go under the moniker MOM and are originally from Sweden. To find out more about the group, the Doc had to spend a long time searching for their Facebook profile. On the other hand, there is only one video on YouTube, but the band has recently released a two-track CD on Bandcamp. So, listen to both tracks and, if you like them, save them to your computer.

Doc's Favorite New Album Picks to tie up

We often wonder what happened to straightforward, guitar-driven rock n roll. We are not the only ones; you just have to know where to search to find it. As the name suggests, Deraps is an Australian/Canadian power trio that is a throwback to the hard rock of the 1970s and 1980s. Jacob Deraps, the band's guitarist and singer goes under the moniker "Deraps," just like Eddie Van Halen. For whatever reason, Eddie and Van Halen profoundly affected young Jacob, as this song makes clear. They will be releasing their debut album at the end of the month. If you like this song, check out the rest of the album's songs and videos.

Greg Antista and the Lonely Streets are Doc's new favorite band

Whatever you want to call it: power pop, garage rock, indie alternative, or something else entirely. 3-minute pop tunes from Greg Antista and the Lonely Streets are a joy to listen to. Their second album, which includes this track, is out now, and they're already a veteran foursome. As a fan of Evan Dando and The Lemonheads, the Doc feels this song will be a big hit with you too.

Michael Monroe is Doc's new music pick

Dr. Doolittle is excited about the new album from one of his favorite artists. The Finnish rocker Michael Monroe may be unfamiliar to many of you. When he was in his early 20s, this guy formed a punk rock band called Hanoi Rocks, and there was where he began his musical career. For unfortunate reasons, some of you may recognize the band's name. I'm sure the Doc has every Hanoi Rocks cassette, CD, and a good number of Michael's solo albums. It has been referred to as glam metal, punk, and more. Sixty years old and still cranking out some dope tunes. He's a multi-instrumentalist as well. If you like this song a little bit, check out his solo work and Hanoi Rocks.
